Splinter Universe is gaining a new set of splinters, these from the early days of Liaden myth-building, a period when were learning — rather quickly — that our initial idea of having 3 books, or even 7 books — might not be adequate.

So, there’s Shan and Priscilla Ride Again….

As mentioned elsewhere, here, for the next few weeks — aka through August 3, with one week off (the week of June 8) because, Book Tour, we will be posting a chapter from Shan and Priscilla Ride Again.  The reason it’s 16 weeks for 15 chapters is because there is a prologue.

Shan and Priscilla Ride Again is a Liaden novel which was never finished, though it was written out to 15 chapters (about 22,000 words).

The latest installment of Shan and Priscilla Ride Again is up now! Remember to check for new installments regularly!

Over the last few years we’ve heard from many of our fans that they want to acknowledge their appreciation of our work in ways that go beyond buying the latest book. We must admit that a freelance lifestyle gets iffy sometimes — and we’ve even asked for extra support  on several occasions — to get to conventions, to help us with medical issues, to support the retrieval of abandoned books from a warehouse, to help with vet costs for our cats. And we’ve found support coming our way, for a long time. You, our readers have reached out numerous times.

Some have done this by taking us to lunch or dinner at conventions, others by sending cards, gift cards, tea sets, weather vanes(!), or even stuffed toys for the cats — all of which, while fun, and greatly appreciated, are sometimes hit and miss.  We do try to share what’s happening, and you’ve shared as well.

Of course Splinter Universe is another way we share, and another way we see your support — there’s a donate button, after all, at the bottom of almost every Splinter Universe feature.

Still, some folks let us know that rather than supporting individual splinters or buying cat meds or trying to find a way to take us to lunch or dinner at a convention — they’d rather be able to give us regular, extra support.

We’ve been holding off on doing this, but recently there’ve been a spate of new crowdfunding opportunities and arrangements, services and platforms. And, there’ve been more calls for us to offer ways for our readers to help.

After considerable discussion at the Cat Farm and Confusion Factory and a study of what was what, we’ve elected to try one of those support platforms. It is called Patreon, and it permits support levels for $1 and up. Our section of Patreon is now live. If you’d like you can visit Lee and Miller at Patreon now.

Also, we’re doing a book tour soon, and we’ve got a new book coming and .. here’s a link to more of the latest Lee and Miller news: Liaden Universe Infodump — #108
