I started writing for newspapers in the late 1960s both as a staff writer (and later in various editorial capacities as well) for the UMBC school newspaper and then for a widely assorted bunch of community newspapers in the suburban Baltimore area. I eventually ended up editing several different community papers, including a couple of tabloids…
One of my favorite papers to work for was the Unicorn Times. Here, one of my favorite interviews ever … with a man who made a lasting impression on me, and on my writing.
