I started writing for newspapers in the late 1960s both as a staff writer (and later in various editorial capacities as well) for the UMBC school newspaper and then for a widely assorted bunch of\u00a0 community newspapers in the suburban Baltimore area. I eventually ended up editing several different community papers, including a couple of tabloids…<\/p>\n
One of my favorite papers to work for was the Unicorn Times. Here, one of my favorite interviews ever … with a man who made a lasting impression on me, and on my writing.\u00a0 I should note that the photograph used to illustrate this article was also later used by Locus for the obituary of Compton Crook I wrote for them — Steve Miller<\/p>\n
